Emerging Canadian Writer. Fountain Pens. Fedoras. Run!

Welcome! My name is Patrick L. Rivers. The “L” stands for something. I am an emerging (as in brand new) writer based in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, in Canada. Sudbury is home to the Sudbury Basin, a massive impact crater (and one of Earth’s oldest craters) that has produced some remarkable talent over the years—various athletes, the late Alex Trebek, and, of course, writers and poets. It is my hope I find myself in the future part of that latter group.
I took an interest in writing only a few years ago. Long before that, I had brewed scenarios and stories in my mind that I thought one day would make an interesting read. Several years later, here I am! I am a fan of fantasy and science fiction, but I do have an interest in the mundane and the tales of the everyday person.
I have a few projects on the go. My major project at the moment is The Severis Tales, a series of short stories (set on the fictional fantasy-like world of Algenon that celebrates the lives of ordinary people. Other projects include Elineer, a fantasy series that is taking its time to mature like a fine wine. I am always eyeing the world to build stories with, fantasy or not, science fiction or not. Keep an eye out.
Check out my blog posts on various subjects, the free stories from The Severis Tales, and anything else that may interest you. If you like it, consider following me on Twitter, or send me a few dollars via PayPal. Every bit of support motivates me to venture deeper into the world of literacy and imagination.
Happy reading!
